The Gîte
The “Chemin vers l’Etoile” welcome spilgrims and hikers all year round, alone or in groups, for one night or for stays (from November to March, reservation is necessary fifteen days in advance).
Run by a former pilgrim who made the Chemin du Puy to Santiago de Compostelain 2007, this refuge welcomes pilgrims (GR65) and hikers (GR10), in the heart of Saint Jean Pied de Port, in a spirit of sharing and encounters.
The refuge is located in the heart of the old town of Saint Jean Pied de Port, directly on the Pilgrim’s Way to Santiago de Compostela which will lead you to Galicia, in the foot steps of millions of pilgrims.
Worshiping Santiago Major in Compostela will be the true start of your own Way…
You will be welcomed in a majestic 3-storey residence dating from the end of the sixteenth century (1580).
Sleeping bag or meat bag recommended. If you don’t have one we can provide you with a flat sheet and blanket to rent.
Personalized welcome in several languages: French, English, Spanish.
